0101-viair-pump
The ViAir tire compressor I use for the truck is shown next to a small compressor. I had to fix the nozzle on the ViAir and the small one was too small for the truck.

0116-air-fry-potatoes
I got an air fryer for Christmas and tried it out on some red potatoes I had available. Looks good. Tasted good too.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0119-salad
This was a very nice salad that I made and later shared with Sandy.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0122-bookshelves
At this point I had filled the new office bookshelves with my books, finally getting the books out of boxes. There was still some books and quite a bit of junk on the old bookshelf.

0124-gnome-home
Jo-Ann sent photos of her latest gnome home in the back yard. It is on the very large tulip tree.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0128-snow-covered-truck
The truck was left at Sandy's house for two weeks and managed to get covered in a lot of snow. After clearing the windshield, no easy task, it drove right out of about two feet of snow.

0130-jambalaya-ingredients
Ingredients for jambalaya.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0203-10ft-shelves
Thia is the start of what ended up being a 10 foot high by 4 foot wide set of shelves in the garage. It is along the stairs using one wall of the prior small fastenner and power tool shelves (which are too small for the power tools).

Image file: photo01.jpg

0204-chana-masala
This is the ingredients for and the final result of another batch of slow cooker chana masala. I added some ghost pepper so it ended up quite spicy.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0205-10ft-shelves
The back set of vertical 2x4s went into place. They were slightly bowed which made for more work keeping the whole thing relatively straight. The were rip cut to 3" before using them.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0208-aloo-gobi
This is the ingredients and result from a large batch of the authentic aloo gobi (as opposed to the slow cooker version).

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0209-10ft-shelves
The side walls are up on the 10 foot shelves. Rip cutting has left a sizeable pile of sawdust beneath the table saw.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0210-10ft-shelves
Some of the lower shelf framing is up and one shelf is in place on the new garage shelves.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0211-10ft-shelves
The track saw comes in handy for cutting plywood for the shelves. All of the framing for shelves are in and half of the shelves are in place.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0213-xc-skis
I finally bought cross country skis. Sandy has been wanting to snow shoe or go cross country skiing with me for a while.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0217-10ft-shelves
All of the shelves are now in place and some sanding has been done. The top needs to be finished and the back added.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0218-10ft-shelves
The top pieces are in place and the back has been added giving a more finished look. Some front support and trim pieces are still needed.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0220-10ft-shelves
The front trim and support pieces are in place and have been sanded. It is time to start loading the shelves and put them to use.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0221-saw-dust-coat
It has been cold out and all of the work in the garage has resulted in a very dusty winter coat. It went in the wash a few days later and came out great and dried very quickly.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0225-10ft-shelves
This is the initial loading of the 10 foot high by 4 foot wide shelves. Some better organization is needed as there are a few more things to be added and I was hoping to get one or two shelves for large hand held power tools.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0229-enchilada
This was enchiladas made with very small corn tortillas. There are 6 in the upper pyrex pans and 10 in the bottom. They need a layer of salsa (I use picata) and vegan cheddar. These pans fit in the toaster oven. After the first is used and cleaned I'll move 5 enchiladas and have two pans of 5 enchiladas enchiladas each. I might freeze them.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0302-vegan-cheddar
Some uses for vegan cheddar: enchiladas, cheese wheel, brocolli.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0303-lasagna
Partially made vegan lasagna with olive and sun dried tomato layer and second photo with vegan mozarella layer.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0305-lasagna
Vegan lasagna with almond flour based parmesian cheese out of the oven and with one large serving removed.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0306-lasagna
A serving of vegan lasagna.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0307-lasagna
Yet another serving of vegan lasagna.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0307-monitor-wall
This is the very beginning of the framing for the new wall area to hold a monitor with a PC inside the wall to serve as an alternate to having a TV. Future homeowners could put an actual TV there if they want to.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0308-monitor-wall
The framing for the monitor wall is nearly complete in there photos.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0309-kitchen-mess
The kitchen and living room area was quite a mess with tools all over the place due to building the monitor wall framing.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0309-vegan-crepe
This was the result of trying a vegan savory crepe recipe. The crepes tended to stick to the pan without a lot of oil. The filling is chickpea and mushroom based. These were good but hard to make.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0310-table-vice
This is a table vice that I bought but have yet to use. It should come in handy with the small portable workbench.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0312-xc-ski
We had over a foot of snow up north over the weekend and Monday. The driving would have been difficult on the weekend. Tuesday was sunny so I took off to go cross country skiing in Carrabassett (Sugarloaf Outdoor Center). The day was beautiful with blue skies. The skiing was great. I did manage to get a fingertip in a few shots all but ruining them.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg Image file: photo06.jpg Image file: photo07.jpg Image file: photo08.jpg Image file: photo09.jpg Image file: photo10.jpg Image file: photo11.jpg

0313-monitor-wall
It is now up to Ed (the painter) to finish the monitor wall. The is his first work, putting up sheet rock and starting to mud it.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0315-falafel
I tried a vegan falafel recipe. They were good but I missed the olive oil in the mix so they didn't hold together as well as I'd like. I'm also searching for a good tahini sauce or hot sauce to go with them.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0317-monitor-wall
Ed has made further progress mudding the monitor wall.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0318-office-cabinets
This is where I started to put the cabinet hardware on the office cabinets. The handles were hard because the hole spacing had to be precise. The locks were hard too, with the top drawer locks hardest due to having to drill a 1 1/8 partial hole in the opposite direction.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0319-office-cabinets
The finished office hardware installation looked professionally done. Only I know where things didn't got quite right. There is nothing visible on the outside and you'd have to know where to look on the inside to see where minor fixes were needed.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0320-monitor-wall
The doggie door wall got patched and mudded. The monitor wall is further progressing with the finer compound and sanding taking place.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0321-snow-again
We got an unexpected snow in Belfast on Wednesday. The ski areas got 4-6 inches which put down a good base but with more snow expected on Friday and over a foot on Saturday.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0322-monitor-wall
Ed was still doing further sanding on the monitor wall but starting to paint some parts that were completed.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0322-remote-access-home
Belmont Boatworks did some complimentary work on the cabintop of Remote Access to correct some earlier work that wasn't done well. They also did further cleanup of the cabin top going above and beyond the complimentary work they agreed to do. They recommended painting the cabin top and redo the non-skid and so they didn't buff. I plan to buff when it gets warmer and see how she looks and maybe paint and do the non-skid myself.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0324-buried-cars
Saturday Temple, Rangeley, and Carrabassett all got 18-20 inches of snow. Sandy and I skied in Temple on Saturday in the newly falling snow with 2-3 inches over the base that came down the prior Wednesday. Conditions were great even though we were setting down new tracks in the fresh snow. I got back to Sandy's, then went to Hannaford, then got stuck getting back in Sandy's driveway so had to do quite a bit of shoveling. There was about a foot of new snow by then. These photos show the cars the next morning with Sandy's completely buried and mine partially buried, having gone out and come back in the late afternoon.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0324-xc-ski
One Sunday Sandy and I skied at Sugarloaf Outdoor Center in Carrabassett. The skiing was great. After a short distance on groomed trails, we started out on ungroomed trails with what seemed to be tracks from on prior skier a while ago. This was hard work with some 20" of new snow over the 6" base set down earlier in the week. The sun was out and it was warm and the views were great. I finally got some good photos of Sandy. We had to go off trail twice to let the grooming machine by but then we were skiing on freshly groomed snow. The snow was soft and so not too fast but with good gliding. Plus we had done the hard work of going up hill on ungroomed trails and now had mostly downhill to finish up the day. We both had a wonderful day.

0327-drill-label
I took a photo of the label on my drill so I could get a replacement power cord. I'll likely delete this photo later. Until then it serves as a reminder.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0328-stair-platform
This framing and platform was made to keep Ed (the painter) safe while painting above the stairs. I built this in 4 pieces, two 30"x48" boards with some framing to hold them in place, the horizontal framing, and the vertical brace. Assembly and disassembly is possible with one person but much easier with two.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0330-peach-tree
Sandy and I went to an apple orchard to a session on pruning apple trees. Sandy has one 30' apple tree that needs to be revived. The pruning advise also applies to peach trees. After the session I pruned the smaller of my two peach trees.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0331-monitor-wall
The monitor wall is finished at this point but the monitor mount won't get completed for quite some time.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0331-peach-trees
The peach trees just got a pruning.
