0401-naked-pine
This was the small pine tree in the yard. The joke was maybe I trimmed it a bit too heavily.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0401-peach-trees
Peach tree pruning again. A little touch up.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0402-hydrangea-move
Starting to transplant the first of two hydrangeas.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0403-hydrangea-move
Finish moving the first of two hydrangeas to be transplanted.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg Image file: photo06.jpg

0404-red-curry-tofu
Red curry tofu ingredients.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0404-suprise-snow
A surprise April snow came to Belfast but not much. The snow at Rangeley and Carrabesset was about two feet. This made for great cross country skiing a few days later.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0408-dandelion-haul
The dandelions were starting to flower so I started weeding. I got a full 30 gallon trash bag plus another 1/3 bag but still only put a dent in the front yard population.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0408-living-room
The living room got rearranged to put the couch facing the monitor wall which still doesn't have the monitor mounted.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0408-solar-eclipse
April 8 was the total eclipse. Sandy couldn't get the day off due to meetings so I had to cross country ski on my own. By bushwacking a bit I found a nice secluded small peak with a break in the trees in just the right direction for good viewing.

0408-tool-labels
These are labels from some tools that I am trying to get parts for but being Craftsman and Sears going bankrupt parts are hard to come by.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg

0409-hydrangea-move
A second hydrangea was transplanted.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0411-mulch-piles
The compost and yard waste pile was disassembled into a pile of small tree stumps and large roots, a pile of branches, a pile of recently cut pine, and the orriginal compost pile. Some was spread out to reduce puddles after a rain.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0417-bed-frame
This frame will go under the bad to improve air circulation and help the radient heat do its job.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0418-ditch-digging
Today was a ditch digging day. Jeans and work boots got quite muddy.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0420-bed-frame
The bed frame is further taking shape in these photos. Edges were rounded with the router and sanding was done.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0421-bed-frame
The bed frame isn't very heavy so getting it in the house was not hard.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0421-limelight-move
Back to transplanting. This time it is the limelight hydrangea.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg

0421-magnolia
The magnolia is starting to bloom. Hopefully it is a miniature. Otherwise it will need to be moved before it gets too big.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0422-rototiller
The rototill started with little effort after about 2 years of not being used.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0423-more-transplant
Next transplants were two andromeda and a small blueberry. All survived but the blueberry may not produce berries this year. Stakes were put in for more blueberries to be transplanted in fall or next spring.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0424-bed-frame-install
The bedroom had to be cleared out to put the bed frame under the bed. That made it a good time to thoroughly clean the floor. Moving the heavy peices to the living room and setting it up again took effort but was not difficult.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg Image file: photo06.jpg

0425-enchilada-fail
This was a bit of a fail making enchiladas with 100% corn tortillas. The corn tortillas are dry and break easily if used as-is. I got better at it in the next try when I heated them first.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0425-kayak
Plans to rototill Will's upper garden and Sandy's garden and then go kayaking.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0428-mercer-bog-kayak
Sandy and I kayaked at Mercer Bog. It is clean shallow fresh water with plenty of beaver dens. I got a few blury photos of Sandy.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0503-bay-glimmer
There was a glimmer on the water in Penobscot Bay.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0503-neighbor-cat
The neighbor's stub tail cat with stocky back legs doesn't really look like a cat.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0504-buds+blooms
Photos are of peach buds getting ready to open, blueberry buds, lilac buds, the neighbor's crab apple tree just past peak bloom, and a very large forsythia.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg

0507-revetment-work
Two backhoes were put to use and dump trucks cam by with large stone to rebuild the neighbor's revetment.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg

0507-transplants
Transplants were done for now. It is time to start working on boats.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0508-ed+starlink
Ed put up my Starlink antenna and shoved the wire into the attic space. Ed is definitely not afraid of heights. OSHA would not approve of his methods.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0509-drainage+revetment
Having finished the revetment the backhoes were joined by a skid loader to put in new drainage and then put the lawn back together.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg Image file: photo06.jpg Image file: photo07.jpg Image file: photo08.jpg Image file: photo09.jpg Image file: photo10.jpg Image file: photo11.jpg Image file: photo12.jpg Image file: photo13.jpg Image file: photo14.jpg Image file: photo15.jpg Image file: photo16.jpg Image file: photo17.jpg Image file: photo18.jpg Image file: photo19.jpg Image file: photo20.jpg Image file: photo21.jpg

0509-starlink-cable
The Starlink antenna wire needed to be run through a few attic spaces and closets to get from the roof to the basement. This may be a dry run for later heat pump installation.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg Image file: photo05.jpg Image file: photo06.jpg Image file: photo07.jpg

0510-starlink-router
The final antenna wire run went down the basement stairs to the Starlink router and then to the UPS. This has been a somewhat long term temporary wiring from the router to the rack area and router shelf installation.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0512-back-lawn
Sandy and I moved the palet of decking material and restacked it and after that I cut the lawn.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0515-lily
Lily and I spent about 10 days together and went hiking almost every day while I was dogsitting for Erin and Mike.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0515-mike+erin
Erin and Mike are about to depart on their way to Portugal.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0517-lily
After hiking Lily was worn out and happy.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0520-lime-kiln
This is the set of lime kilns at Cromwell Valley Park near Towson.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0528-joann-rhodie
Jo-Ann is standing in front of her rhododendron to provide a size reference in the photo.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0528-sphinx
Shannon's cat, Mr Sphinx, is still doing well for his age.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0529-joann+dogs
Left to right are Shannon's dog named Patches, Jo-Ann, and Midnight.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0530-lilac
The lilacs had bloomed before I got home so were past prime but still had flowers and fragrance.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0603-rhodie
The large rhododendron in my yard was near full bloom.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0604-empty-boat-space
The boat port had to be cleared out to make room for sv Full Charged to return home.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0605-clock-goop
Somehow this blue goop ended up on the clock after returning from Belmont Boat works. It did not come from inside the clock so something must have been spilled on it.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0606-torqeedo
A rack was built in the garage to store the Torqeedo Travel XP and batteries when not in use such as during the winter.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0607-boat-move
Sailing Vessel (sv) Fully Charged arrived and was squeezed into the boat port. She is beamier and taller than the prior occupant, Frank's boat Sarah. Both boats being about 36' LOA didn't quite fit lengthwise. Fully Charged barely fit and headroom is very limited.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0610-enchiladas
The second attempt at vegan enchiladas with 100% corn tortillas was a success.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0610-rainbow
My neighbor sent a photo of a rainbow over my house.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0611-boat-clock
It is a shame that manufacturers put cheap guts in expensive maring clocks. This is the under $14 (Amazon price) mechanism in my $250 Weems & Plath clock. It had corrosion and had to be replaced.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0611-garage-lines
A good use for white bilge paint is line on the garage floor to guide the car in. This works well with the backup camera.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0612-boat-clock
The clock polished up nicely with hard rubbing and medium grit fiberglass polishing compound which is finer than metal polishing compound. I sent the clock to a clock shop to replace the mechanism.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0612-mint-mobile
Of all the stupidity, Mint Mobile sends a text message with instructions on how to set up a new phone. The only reasonable way to follow the instructions on the same phone is to take photos of the screen with another phone. Email next time please. The instructions on their web site is different and if you follow the IPv4/IPv6 instructions it is still different.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0623-cp23-solar
The CP23 now has a connector for the solar panel and can use either the old 6W panel mounted on the stern rail while underway or the 100W flexible panel that seems to only be able to produce 20+W probably due to the numerous cracks in it.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0625-cp23-cabin
The forward cabin got a new layer of bilge paint to protect the wood and the cabin got a cleaning.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg Image file: photo04.jpg

0625-cp23-motor-mount
This is the first of many sets of photos of the CP23 motor mount. It was intended to use four steel bars inside the teak but that didn't work out well.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0625-cp23-solar
The flexible solar panel got moved around a few times before finding a place to get good sun on it.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0626-cp23-cabin
The CP23 forward cabin got some further cleaning and the cushions were put back in the boat.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0627-burgers
This was the first time making OSG black bean and rice burgers and the first time making the OSG chickpea avocado toast. These are both very good recipes.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

0627-tesla-starlink
In order to get the Tesla connected to the Starlink wifi the car had to be almost parked on top of the router.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0628-tofu-scramble
This is another OSG recipe, tofu scramble. Also very good.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0629-sandy-garden
These are somewhat candid photos of Sandy in her garden.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg

0630-will+sandy
Will and Sandy were planting peppers in one of the lower tiers near the house on a very hot day.
