The first half of 2023 was mostly about buying a house in Belfast, packing, moving from Bangor to Belfast, cleaning the house, getting the house a bit better furnished, and improving storage in the garage. Tara has had the Orleans house painted and the floors refinished. I tore out the office and so far its been painted. I also did a fair amount of landscaping. I need to go back to garage work soon.
The CP23 never made it to the water. Belmont Boatworks was a huge disappointment. After promising completion of the work on the boat in time for late spring launch the date changed to early July but kept getting put off. In early September the boat was finally able to leave but with some very sloppy gelcoat work that they promised to do a later complimentary fix for. She was ready to launch but then I noticed they didn't change the boat numbers as requested. I took the old numbers off but it got too cold to buff the shadows so she didn't launch at all in 2023.
From July to September the emphasis turned to outdoor work, rennovating the in-home office, painting the house exterior trim, and replacing decks. As of late October the back deck was not completed due to finding rot in an inside corner of the house. The last of the exterior painting was completed in late October on the rare warm days. The new office is in use but needs some handles and locks on some cabinets.
In October Daniel, Erin, and Kat and David came to visit and we did some hiking. Erin and I also did some kayaking but no photos.
We split wood for Thanksgiving. Other than that I didn't get any Thanksgiving photos and got a few not-very-good Christmas photos.
