Rounding the upwind mark it was evident how close the fleet was at
this point in the race. Moore tacked toward the mark first and broke
from the other two. Crocker and Hansen are seen sailing toward the
mark looking to be almost dead even.
Crocker rounded the mark first, followed very closely by Hansen. Both
are in the same photo bearing away after the mark. Moore tacked prior
to the mark having gone outside and in the next photo is seen to be
little more than a boat length from the leaders. In the same photo,
Wilson is seen approaching the mark.
In the next few photos Maynard, then Wilson, then McGovern round the
mark. All six boats are in the last photo with McGovern just rounding
the mark.
