The second race start was upwind. It was another very clean start.
Just over a boat length separate the first three or four boats for
much of the first upwind leg. In the one of last few photos five
boats are seen sailing the same tack with not much distance between
the leaders. Hanson and Crocker were leading with less than a boat
length between the two with Moore close behind. McGovern and Wilson
were close enough behind to be on the same tack in the some of the
same photos with the leaders.
Unfortunately the shutter speed got bumped from 250 to 125 so about a
dozen photos were overexposed. The result is the color is somewhat
distorted. The sky was not purple. The first two photos on this page
have normal sky. The first photo on the next page has the purple sky
and that is where the error was corrected. Its a good idea to check
the light meter now and then.
