This is what the water main repair looked like the next day. There had been about 3 inches of rain so everything was very wet. They did scrape some soil into the hole that saved me from later moving at least a half dozen wheelbarrows of soil.

We had six people for Apple Day. This was a low turnout. Daniel was in Colorado and Erin had hurt her back. Daniel, Erin and Mike were missed but we easily made a dozen pies.

We already had two bushels of apples, one each or cortland and macintosh. Shannon led the expedition to pick a small bag of apples and visit the store at the orchard. I stayed behind and snuck the gnomes into the porch. The cake had fake mushrooms made of chocolate.
