1001-behind-garage
Grading the soil immediately behind the garage is progressing.

1004-apple-day
This is a time lapse of part of the kitchen activity on apple day.

1011-behind-garage
This is the area behind and to the side of the garage. A second rototill pass was done in most of the area behind the garage and first pass on the side of the garage. The strip along the road had a quick pass and then the rototiller handle broke.

1011-rototiller-handle
These are some photos of the broken rototiller handle. It is about 2 inch steel tube but somewhat thin walled so enough rough handling and it finally broke.

1016-hot-tub-access
These photos were taken for the spa people. They show access to the hot tub which I might either get rid of or replace.

1023-boat-propane
It took a little doing but I got the propane tank and locker out of the boat. That made it a lot easier to get behind the steering quadrant.

1023-garage-yard
Further progress was made on rototilling behind the garage and on the side of the garage near the property line and along the road in front of Shirley's house. Since then it kept raining every few days so it's been too wet for this work for a while.

1103-new-miata
Jo-Ann with her new Miata at the dealer in front of the blue sign that indicates handicap parking but maybe mental handicap counts.

1105-boat-battery-switches
Playing with the new label maker. Made some simple labels for the battery switches.

Image file: photo01.jpg

1106-boat-sw-and-panel
The labels have now been made for the boat switches and for the low amperage breaker panel.

1109-boat-spaces
These photos are intended to help me figure out how to do the plumbing work for the head and shower. The first is in the main cabin looking a the access behind the shower. The second is a close up. The third and fourth are in the (filthy) shower enclosure looking at where the head will be mounted. The fifth and sixth are the access behind the shower enclosure from the forward cabin side. The seventh and eighth are the cabinet in the shower enclosure with the eighth showing a mystery wire under the sidedeck. The last shows the bronze black water siphon break.

1111-thimble
These are photos Jo-Ann sent of Thimble before Shannon had picked a name.

1112-sunrise
Nice sunrise and the first snow of the year even though it is not much more than a dusting and disappeared before noon.

1112-tool-mod
This is a tool from Amazon made by Dovaman. The safety switch on the trigger was so badly placed and designed that it was useless for getting into very tight spots. Since I bought it to make straight cuts in tight spots on the boat I considered returning it. Some of the screws were inaccessible without taking the whole thing apart so that is what it took to remove the safety switch entirely. Works fine now. Cheap but maybe I should have bought the DeWalt.

1113-thimble
Shannon finally decided on the name Thimble and introduced us all to her new cat sending this photo.

1115-compost-bin-sides
These are the sides of the compost bin that I just started making. They are made of pressure treated decking and some left over 2x4 rip cut to about 1.5x1.5.

1118-compost-bin-joined
These are the sides of the compost bin miter cut and joined to form the basic shape.

1119-first-light
This is first light over Penobscot Bay on a fairly clear morning.

1120-compost-bin-lid
These photos show the door to shovel out compost on the front of the compost bin and the lid on top of the compost bin. These were the final touches to complete the project.

Image file: photo01.jpg Image file: photo02.jpg Image file: photo03.jpg

1121-compost-bin-done
The compost bin is now done and in place. The small plastic kitchen compost bin is on top of it and the first of many of these small bins has been dumped in. This is only for kitchen compost, not yard waste.

1123-fischer-skis
This is a chart of Fischer skate skis and the recommended weight vs ski size. I got the Aerolite Classic 60 in 207 cm which has a range of 165-200+. Since I usually weigh 165-170 I'm near the bottom of that range. I now need NNN or compatible bindings and new boots. My current boots are NNN BC (back country) and NNN BC bindings would be too wide for these skiis.

1125-gnome-home
This is just two more photos of Jo-Ann's gnome home in the large tulip tree in her back yard.

1127-log-splitting
This is Margo and Shannon splitting some logs. Jo-Ann did most of the splitting up to this point and I was cutting up logs with the chain saw. Later we all stacked. We did this Tuesday to Friday as part of our Thanksgiving tradition of log splitting.

1130-log-split-team
This is the log splitting team in front of the fireplace. Left to right are me, Jo-Ann, Margo, and Shannon.
