This is what was left of the concrete block that was in Erin and Mike's lawn. The rest was chipped off with a sledge hammer to make it light enough for two people to lift. Of course the next trick would be to get it out of the wheelbarrow. We then had quite a time finding where in the Towson area we could get rid of this.

This is Erin and Mike's garden area after the initial rototilling.

We got some of the 4x4 framing for the small garden area in place. We then got an afternoon delivery of 10 yards of very high quality soil for the garden. We got about half of it off the tarp so that the footprint was combined to the driveway and the pressure of the soil would not kill any of the grass. Mike and Erin are keeping an eye on Lily to keep her out of the dirt piles.

The fence framing is now mostly in place around Erin and Mike's smaller garden area. The small garden is 12' by 12'6".

Erin and Mike are putting in metal stakes in the larger garden section. This is about 27' by 42' (1,134 sqft). Erin looks dangerous with that 4lb hammer.

Erin and Mike are digging a shallow trench for the bottom of the wire fencing on the large section of the garden and putting in the last of that fencing. The small garden has both rabit fence (2"x3" wire spacing) and a lower 1/2 inch wire mesh for smaller rodents. With its 4x4 wood base, wood framing for the fencing and thought to be nearly rodent inpenatrable fencing, Mike has named the small garden "The Fortress". The last of these photos were taken just prior to planting.

The squirrel house on Jo-Ann's tree is in poor shape but at this point still inhabited. The following year the bottom fell out - a project for some other day.

Jo-Ann is removing the famous "Erin door" that was in the hallway to keep Erin away from the stairs. Erin had broken prior doors by hanging here weight on them and rocking back and forth until something broke. This heavy stained pine door plus four strong hinges and lag bolts into a wall stud were used to address the problem.

Its a witch with a broom taking off from a house top. Or maybe it is just Jo-Ann sweeping the garage roof. Also a rather large wood spider on the stone work near the doorway.

There is a deer in both of these photos but very well camaflauged due to being the same color as the leaves and tree trunk in the background.
