Once parallel with the island or past it the challenge was negociating the very shallow water and the opposing tidal current. These photos were taken while sitting near the mark in the safety boat. These are all still downwind sailing but with some broad reaching to cut through the shoals. Apparently a number of the boats lightly grounded here and lost time.
