0401-splitter
Having unboxed and assembled the wood splitter it was time to test it. The wheels it comes with are worthless so a moving hand cart is needed on soft ground. The splitter works but the piston movement is very slow and the wedge is small. Its adequate for the occasional downed tree.

0403-unsplit-wood
This is the cut but unsplit wood from the live tree that broke late last year. It still needs time to dry before splitting.

0411-dove-nest
A pair of doves decided to use the top of a window air conditioner as a platform for a nest.

0420-rabbit
Yet another rabbit is well camoflaged but visible in the higher resolution photos.

0420-rhodie-transplant
Moving the rhodie to the left of the stairs left a big hole. That rhodie transplanted in one piece. The ball was not liftable by one or two people but with a hand winch hung from a tree limb I got it in the wheelbarrow and did a reasonable job of dumping the wheelbarrow right were I wanted it to go.

0421-more-junk-wood
Yet another load of junk wood. Some of this was from splitting very old cut wood and tossing the rotten parts but also tossing a few small piles of wood that had decayed beyond being useful as firewood.

0425-rabbit
Another rabbit. This time in the open in the driveway.

Image file: photo01.jpg

0426-dove-nest
The doves had two eggs. At this point they are sitting on a chick visible in front of the dove.

0427-dove-nest
This is taken at a distance to avoid disturbing the doves. One egg didn't hatch and the chick was still there a few days after hatching. We had a cold snap and the chick died a few days later.

0614-tower99
This is the empty third floor appartment in Bangor. The building is known as Tower 99. There is a small park visible from the windows and the Kenduskeag Stream is visible.

These are views from the Bangor apartment taken in the evening. The tide is high on Kenduskeag Stream which flows backwards on the rising tide as does the Penobscot River.

Another rabbit or maybe just another photo of the same rabbit which has managed to evade the hawks and coywolves and fox so far.

0624-new-glasses
I got new water glasses though not all arrived intact. I had one broken glass and Amazon sent another two boxes of four to replace it.
