0706-batbox-cut-lengths
After making the prototype and some careful planning the process was worked out. It made sense then to cut all of the peices for the 12V and 24V battery boxes at once before assembly.

0708-hull-progress
These photos are of Ibis in Kent Richardson's shop after the hull was soda blasted and some of the fairing completed.

0712-batbox-12v
The first battery box to be constructed was the 12V box. The pickup truck gate was used as a workbench. The 12V batteries are 1/2 inch shorter than the rest.

0714-batbox-planer
When making the 12V box variations in thickness and uneven surfaces was an annoyance and required some compensation during assembly. When the wood was cut for the four 48V boxes it was then run through the planar to make assembly go faster and the result a bit neater.

0803-batbox-near-done
The battery boxes are near done. The side planks just have to be added.

This photo just shows a detail of assembly, using the carpenter square to make sure the vertical slats are perpendicular to the base.

This is the first set of photos after Ibis was moved from Richardson Marine to our side yard.

0920-deck-baby-gate
It took about a day and a half to build the deck baby gate for Erin's babies (her dogs). It should work for small children too, but we are not likely to be testing that any time soon. It would have taken a day but the posts, while the same spacing top to bottom are tilted and tilted differently fore and aft requiring some adjustments after initial completion. Never assume anything is square or level.

0926-erin-and-pups
Erin has just arrived from Maryland for a work from Mom and Dad's home visit. Of course with pups in tow.

0926-ibis-clear-transom
This is the first set of photos with the name removed from the transom. It seems that a decision will have to be made on a new name. There is a bit of unfinished gelcoat work but it doesn't show in the photos. The teak has been cleaned up nicely except the bowsprit and bow.

0927-pups
Erin's pups (1.5 and 8 years old) are resting after their long drive yesterday.

0927-tending-bar
Erin, who hardly drinks at all, is tending bar. She makes a very good Margarita. These were raspberry flavored. The large glasses did throw her off a bit.
