Erin called on a Wednesday night to ask if we were busy the following Sunday. We said yes we were busy. She asked if we could get out of whatever we had to do. The answer was "not easily". Then she mentioned that she was getting married on Sunday and would really like us to be there. I immediately said I'd get out of my prior obligation.

The wedding was a simple civil ceremony at a park gazebo in Keene NH. Afterwards we all went to a very nice resturant. Some time later Erin and Mike will have a reception so that their friends could attend.

So why the rush? Her parents got four days notice.

Erin and Mike got engaged nearly a year ago but have been very busy with work and grad school. Mike got a new job in Maryland. Erin gave notice at her current job. During the summer she is in grad school. Erin got her COBRA letter and immediately decided they would get married rather than pay for health insurance. I called this frugal to a fault. They are happy.
